HydrofrackingOriginally developed in the oil drilling industry, hydrofracking is the process of pumping water to open new or existing water veins to increase water flow. This process establishes a water source for new wells and brings up water production in old or dried up wells. If a well makes little or no water, we can increase the flow rate about 98% of the time. It is so successful that we offer a guarantee. Here's What We DoThe pump is removed from the well and the depth of the well is measured. The casing (pipe) and static water level are measured. The packer is installed approximatly 40' below the well casing. Approximately 1,000 gallons of pre-chlorinated well water is pumped at high volume and pressure in an attempt to see a pressure change. The packer is moved 100 feet deeper for a second hydrofrack, approximately 1,600 gallons of water is used. The well is flushed with the remaining 400 gallons. Reset the pump and the water is pumped out of the well for several hours. Flow test is performed two business days after the hydrofracking is complete. If your well runs out of water or does not produce enough water you could be a candidate for hydrofracking. Skillings & Sons, Inc. can flow test your well if you do not know how much your well produces. The entire hydrofracking process from start to finish takes approximately 4-6 hours. You will have running water that same day. If you are unsure if your well is a candidate for this process, we can send a Skillings & Sons, Inc. representative to inspect the job site for access. Well LocatingIf you do not know where your well is located, Skillings & Sons Inc. can locate it for you. A transmitter and receiver is used to locate the well. We can find it within a 2-4 foot margin of error (conditions can cause an increase in the margin of error). Once your well is located, protect it with a rock cover. This will allow you to remember where your well is located and keep it protected. |
